Vascular Xray Technologist Associate

Working closely with doctors, nurses, and technologists under the direction of the Medical Chief of Cardiology, your insight and knowledge is major league when it comes to anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, electro-physiology, cardiovascular hemodynamics, radiation properties of x-ray and fluoroscopy equipment.
This isn't your first rodeo, and so positioning patients on the table, properly placing monitoring devices and camera heads are second nature to you. You own your responsibilities and your expertise because you love what you do, and it shows. That's what we love about you.

Your Everyday
Demonstrate technical skills and knowledge in use of all x-ray equipment, protocols, procedures and producing high quality exams.
Provide x-ray diagnostic and therapeutic angiography procedures in accordance with policies and procedures as delineated by the Radiation Safety Officer.
Explain procedure to patients/families and answer questions, ease anxiety, and address concerns.
Recognize clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action for a positive outcome.
Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone and follow all quality control checks.
Demonstrate proficiency and quality in technical performance of x-ray and angiography selecting appropriate techniques, labeling and marking of digital films.
Apply knowledge of the principle of scrubbing and circulating X-ray and hemodynamic monitoring techniques.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all cath lab / specialized equipment.
Operate the Medrad injector and Radiology equipment.
Follow radiation exposure ALARA and operate x-ray devices according to safety protocols, using appropriate dosages and intervals so that exposure to patients and coworkers is kept to the lowest levels.
Maintain a daily log of patients seen and complete exam billing forms
Maintain clean, functional equipment, environment, and adequate supplies.
Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.
The Must-Haves
Minimum:
Eligible for Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
