Director - CVOR / Cardiovascular Operating Room

JOB PURPOSE:

Serves as part of the Cardiovascular (CV) executive management team focused on promoting the mission, vision and values of Piedmont Healthcare Corporation (PHC), embracing a person-centered philosophy while promoting cardiovascular services across the continuum and enhancing value-driven outcomes. Leads the administrative, operational and clinical functions of the Cardiovascular Operating Rooms (CVOR) and Perfusion teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Leads operational components and manages all aspects of the departments.

2. Oversees finances and budget for departments.

3. Manages Value (performance improvement).

4. Directs Patient First physician and extender program with regard to processes, quality and through put.

5. Manages Strategic Direction for the departments.

6. Leads Clinical Services and Program Implementations for departments.

7. Leads Human Resource related activities for the departments.

8. Leads/drives large multi-disciplinary performance improvement projects/initiatives to expand and improve operations.

9. Establishes and delivers change management practices based on project outcomes. This may include proper communication (including preparation of written communication to employees and to external sources), development and delivery of training programs, and establishing effective project governance.

10. Develops processes for transfer of capabilities to ensure sustainable future outcomes from the projects.

11. Builds relationships with functional leaders across the healthcare system, supporting prioritized major CV initiatives with clear mandates, deliverables and resources.

12. Creates and delivers high level presentations to support findings and conclusions.

13. Creates and develops flexible strategic initiatives teams focused on change initiatives.

14. Vendor management, including selection (consultants, CROs, distributors etc.), RFP preparation, negotiation of scope and price, project oversight and payment management.

15. Analyzes and develops policy and procedures to optimize operational effectiveness.

16. Coordinates and establishes employee development programs.

17. Serve as the thought leader and promote operational excellence in process improvement and lean processes across PHI, PAH, and PMCC.

18. Builds value-added relationships with the Executive Leadership Team to support functionally-owned projects with active steering, ongoing involvement and effective decision-making.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Seven (7) years of experience working in an inpatient hospital setting with three (3) of those years in progressive leadership roles.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's in Business Administration. Clinical cardiovascular experience and/or management experience in an interventional cardiovascular program and/or open heart program. Experienced in manipulating and managing complex data sets and making data driven decisions. Six Sigma and PMP certification. Leadership qualities consistent with creativity, innovation, collaboration and critical thinking and ability to constructively identify problems and develop/implement solutions to improve operations and efficiency, team experience, and economics of CVOR.
