Full time tenure track faculty member to teach in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. Faculty in this role will be on a tenure track line, if he/she meets the qualifications or on a clinical line if tenure track qualifications are not met. This position provides leadership and oversight for the evaluation and any necessary revisions of the PMHNP program to maintain and ensure currency with professional standards, regulations, and accreditation. He/she should have experience teaching Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students. Current certification as a PMHNP is required. Mentoring and advising of PMHNP students is part of this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist department chair in the development of course schedules and faculty schedules each semester
Evaluate faculty teaching in the program
Interview and recommend applicants for adjunct faculty positions
Provide Adjunct Faculty Orientation for faculty teaching in the program
Support adjunct faculty
Monitor quality of courses being taught by adjunct faculty
Identify areas for adjunct faculty development
Collect and review all course syllabi in the program for consistency and fit with curricular and program goals and accreditation requirements
Assist in preparing and updating the university catalog for the graduate nursing program• Participate in curriculum development for graduate programs
Participate in policy development for graduate department
Assist with orientation of new faculty
Participate in university and College of Nursing open houses to recruit students into the PMHNP program.
Manage student course issues
Advise students in the program and assist with clinical placements
Participate in DNP projects and on PhD dissertation committees as needed
Maintain graduate director office hours weekly (no fewer than 2 hrs. for each credit of release time granted per week) in addition to regular teaching office hours (3 hrs./wk).

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
1.) Candidates must have an earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, DNP) from an accredited college/university with a history of scholarly publications and activities.
2.) Eligible for an unencumbered license as an RN (ARNP) in New Jersey,
3.) Certified as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
4.) At least 2 years' experience in an academic faculty position and
5.) Have prior program development, academic administration and online teaching experi
ence.

Desired Qualifications:

PhD preferred, EdD or DNP accepted
5 years teaching experience
Online teaching experience

Licenses and Certificates:

Certification as a PMHNP NP or Clinical Nurse Specialist
NJ Registered Professional Nurse license
NJ ARNP license.
