Under the direction of the School of Medicine Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director for Clinical Contracting performs highly specialized duties related to the School of Medicine clinical contractual needs and oversees activities related to contractual agreements. Director is a healthcare financial management and contracting professional responsible to ensure quality in SOM contracts management from initial request to final execution, invoicing, and tracking. With support from the SOM CFO and the SOM Chief of Clinical Operations (CCO), prepares analytical information for SOM and University leadership. Responsible for coordinating hospital contract manager relationships to insure effective and efficient negotiations. Responsible for supporting the SOM departments with development of plans and proformas for new clinical initiatives that could require contractual support from our affiliated hospitals. Works closely with the CFO, CCOO, General Counsel, and SOM Contracts Advisory Committee to provide business intelligence reporting, including financial and contracts analytics. Goal of Director is ultimately to support the SOM Dean in setting priorities for affiliated hospital support and contracting

.Director has significant business development experience, strong people skills, proficiency with both Excel and Business Intelligence reporting and both financial and contracts analytics; comfort presenting to groups of varying size and seniority levels.

* Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents AND financial reports
* Experience with creating large budgets and managing budgets
* Healthcare/patient care business environment experience
* High proficiency with excel and business intelligence software
* Demonstrated excellent analytical skills
* Excellent organizational and excellent interpersonal skills
* Ability to multi-task, and prioritize work assignments without direct supervision
* Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed
* Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
* Ten plus (10+) years' experience in the area of business development contracting• Master's level education or JD
* Three years' experience with complex contract negotiation
* Experience with healthcare contract negotiation
* Experience in the patient care and or physician practice/hospital environment
* Experience in academic medicine settings
