Pay:
$20.10 - $24.12

Under the direction of the Learning and Development Manager, the Wellness Coordinator will work collaboratively in the development, administration, and evaluation of the Clay County Wellness Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create a culture of well-being throughout the organization. Increase awareness and engagement in well-being programs.
  • Coordinate logistics and implement employee-wide challenges, screenings, promotions, programs, and events. Assist with program promotion, including the development and/or distribution of promotional materials.
  • Create and execute project plans, including development/delivery implementation plans, action plans, and tracking key project milestones.
  • Encourage and support well-being policies at the employee's worksite. Promote well-being through meaningful interaction with employees.
  • Develop and facilitate educational programs through courses, workshops, and special events. Deliver presentations both in-person and virtually.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to elicit behavior change and reduce participant ambivalence. Assist employee progress through the stages of change for at-risk behavior.
  • Manage a Wellness Committee and Wellness Platform. Collaborate with HR/Benefit Teams and other departments as applicable.
  • Track and report on all participant-facing activities related to coaching interactions, presentations, special events, and challenges.
  • Develop and maintain files of community resources and health content for augmenting program delivery when necessary.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure spending remains within budget.
  • In case of emergency or crisis situation (hurricane, flood, etc.) position is required to respond/perform emergency and recovery duties as assigned by the County Manager or designee.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Associate's Degree in Health Sciences or closely related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, Public Health, or closely related field. (preferred)
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification. (preferred)
  • Wellness Program, Health Coach, or Fitness/Personal Training Certifications.
  • Minimum 2 years of Wellness Coordinator/Health Coaching or similar health and wellness client-facing experience.
  • Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Any combination of education and experience may be substituted, so long as it provides the desired skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
