POLICE CIVILIAN - DUTIES: Assist Officers/Detectives with various requests. Summons processing for Prosecutor's office. Provide notary functions. Operate, enter, delete and validate all items into IDACS/NCIC. Fingerprint/ photograph for permits, parole/probation register, etc. Criminal History Checks. Operate Record Management System (RMS) and PC terminals to enter, receive and manipulate data. Work front counter taking requests for reports on various crimes and incidents. Printing copies of reports for public and media. Taking payments for permits and criminal histories. Answering phone calls, taking criminal and incident reports. Protective order processing. Reporting NIBRS to State/Federal for statistics. Maintain basket of media reports and send daily media report by email. Enter gun permits into system and maintain monthly counts. Perform other tasks or work given by Supervisor and/or department command staff.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have the ability to type 30 WPM. Must be certified for IDACS/NCIC within 6 months and maintain certification. Must pass security investigation (background, polygraph) including federal fingerprint check. Cannot have a felony conviction or any drug related misdemeanor convictions. Must be able to deal with the public who may be angry, scared, etc. Must become proficient in using photo-imaging, inked fingerprints, and other computer generated equipment and software.
