Job Description
Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Specialty: Medical Surgical Unit

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night shift (7P-7A)

Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week

Experience: 1 year of recent hospital experience in an acute care setting

License: CNA license

Certifications: BLS

Must-Have: Longevity with submitting agency; ability to work night shifts; no holiday requests for time off accepted

Job Description:

- Demonstrate proficiency in obtaining vital signs
- Assist with showering and bathing patients, adhering to unit procedures
- Support ambulation and progression of functional status of patients
- Assist patients directly to the bathroom, rather than using bedside commodes, whenever possible
- Conduct regular turning of patients every 2 hours
- Exhibit good communication skills and teamwork
- Work routinely on designated units, with potential floating to any area with Medical-Surgical patients (within or below scope)
- Participate in a weekend rotation every other week
- Follow hospital orientation protocol, comprising 2 days of general orientation and 1 shift on the unit
- Wear professional scrub attire; no artificial nails or personal cell phone usage, except during breaks

Applicants are expected to adhere to the guidelines and demonstrate proficiency in all required skills to ensure optimal patient care and support within the medical-surgical unit.
