Hoosier Public Health Corps - IUSM AmeriCorps

The HPHC program is hosted by IU School of Medicine. Funding is provided by Serve Indiana and AmeriCorps, alongside with funding from Medical Student Education. The HPHC program is an AmeriCorps program connecting first year medical students to nonprofits around the state to gain a critical understanding of public health issues in Indiana. Medical students who become AmeriCorps Members will spend their summer serving full-time with a nonprofit organization and completing professional development sessions. The program's educational components will prepare students to become physicians who are culturally competent, critical thinkers, and understand healthcare disparities on a systems level. Member Duties : Providing capacity building services to nonprofits throughout Indiana.
