Description and Scope

As a Provisioning Specialist at Skywire Networks, you will be responsible for staging, provisioning, configuring, and managing telecommunications devices (CPEs) servicing our customers. You will work closely with various internal departments and external vendors to ensure smooth service activation, changes, and deactivation processes. The individual will also be key to providing provisioning support to field operations and work closely with inventory management to ensure successful equipment RMA processing of CPEs and other devices. Your role is critical in ensuring an exceptional customer experience by accurately provisioning and configuring services according to company standards in a high-volume manner. The candidate will collaborate with peers to establish standard operating procedures and documentation, enabling scalability and continual growth to improve the customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accurately stage, provision, and configure network and customer premises equipment, supporting telecommunication services, including voice, data, and network services for customers, ensuring alignment with product specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, project management, network operations, and customer support to gather necessary information for provisioning and coordinate service activation in a timely manner.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on provisioned services to guarantee accuracy, functionality, and optimal performance before finalizing activation.
  • Interface with external vendors and service providers to facilitate smooth provisioning and activation processes, ensuring adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve provisioning issues, working closely with technical support teams and vendors to address any challenges and minimize service downtime.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all provisioning activities, ensuring documentation is complete, organized, and readily accessible for reference and auditing purposes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and streamline provisioning workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Perform RMA activities with inventory management.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2+ years' experience in a telecommunications company
  • Experience with provisioning and configuring a high volume of networking devices within a telecommunications company or related industry.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP principles, network device GUIs, and documentation.
  • CCNA or equivalent certification.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office platform, including Visio, Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in telecommunications or related networking areas (e.g., Network+, A+, CCNA)
  • Experience and comfortable with scripting and automation development
  • Previous experience working with provisioning systems and platforms specific to the telecommunications industry.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work with little or no supervision.
  • Knowledge of IP and Ethernet Transport protocols
