The Ultrasound Technologist will make an impact by performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment.

Primary Duties:
  • Assists physicians in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies. Scans the patient marks the patient's body, determines the angle for a puncture, assists as necessary, and maintains a sterile technique.
  • Generates computer images or film through automatic processing and evaluates quality.
  • Communicates and documents patient's clinical information clearly and accurately in verbal and computerized report format. Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
  • Secures and returns supplies such as film, linens, medicine, and patient folders.
  • Selects and operates equipment as directed. Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of diagnostic or ultrasound experience or graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program (registry eligible) with certification in Diagnostic Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 1 Year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Certification in Diagnostic Sonography by ARDMS-OB/ARDMS within 1 Year is preferred.

  • Cardiac Echo Sonographer - 40HRS - DAYS
  • Lab Hours: Monday- Friday 8-4:30pm
  • Holiday coverage Required: (2 majors and 2 minor holidays)
  • Float: Possible float to other MedStar locations may be required
Skills Required: Isolation Precautions, Amniocentesis, RDMS -OB
Work Setting Skills Req: Adult, High-Risk OB, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Obstetrics
Ultrasound Skills Req: Appendix, Gallbladder, Liver, Pancreas, Spleen, Nuchal Translucency Screen Equipment
Skills Preferred: GE Documentation System: Cerner
Daily caseload: 7-12 Patients Specialty: Maternal- Fetal Medicine
