Nursing Assistant

Job Summary
Provides basic nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Requires knowledge, technique, and skills to therapeutically meet the needs of assigned medical-surgical patients. Responsible for performing a variety of assigned tasks. Must be able to identify each patient's age-specific needs and provide care appropriately.
Job Specification
* Minimum Education Required
* A high school graduate or equivalent.
* Minimum Experience Required
* A minimum of 1 year experience with direct patient care preferred.
* Licensure/Certification Required
* Successful completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant Program preferred.
* Must be BLS certified required (or obtain within one month of hire).
Skills
* Must demonstrate commitment to service excellence and performance improvement.
* Must demonstrate interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families and other members of the health care team.
* Must possess the ability to utilize the hospital computer system.
* Must work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide direct patient care and report patient changes to the Registered Nurse.
