BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

The purpose of this position is to assist the CT Technologist with patient care and performing clerical duties.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE JOB FUNCTIONS

* Supports strategic organizational goals.
* Abides by the Aultman Code of Conduct at all times.
* Identifies each patient and reviews each physician order for consistency of exam ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information. Records pertinent data at all times. (Patient history, explanation of limited examination, etc.) Properly and safely positions the patient for maximum diagnostic yield.
* Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through proper use of support/immobilization devices, and proper transport/transfer technique with regard given to the age of the patient.
* Communicates all pertinent information to patient or person responsible.
* Explain exams/procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns.
* Performs POC creatinine testing on outpatients as needed.
* Clerical duties include answering the phone, scheduling inpatients, coordinating add-ons and call backs, screening patients, and communicating with nursing regarding inpatients.

Minimum Education/Experience

* High School Diploma
* Preferred one-year experience in healthcare

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ADDENDUM

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary purpose of the Imaging Service's Aide position is to provide support to the patients and staff of the Imaging Services Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

* Provide the Imaging Service's technologists with support and assistance.
* Obtain patient history prior to exam.
* Verifying consents and patient lab work.
* Keeping rooms stocked and clean.
* Ensuring that all orders have been received and are accurate for the next business day.
* Answer department telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner; direct calls to the appropriate personnel.
* Schedule same day "add on" outpatients.
* Schedule inpatients and arrange for patient transport.
* Complete tasks and requests made by the Radiologists.
* Clerical duties.
* Follow all Aultman Health Foundation policies and procedures for safety, infection control, HIPPA, etc.

Job Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED
* Previous clerical and customer service experience preferred.
* CPR Certification

WORKING CONDITIONS:

* 5:30am - 11pm M-F or hours as required by the job. Occasional weekends, holidays, and off -shifts.
