Assists radiologist during breast biopsy procedures.

Competent in all breast imaging modalities to include screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, needle localizations, cyst aspirations and breast biopsies (stereotactic & ultrasound).

Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.

Selects and utilizes appropriate technical factors for procedure, based on body habitus, pathology, and body parts.

Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiological interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies per MQSA/DHEC regulations.

Continues to develop professionalism through required continuing education programs and in-services. Remains abreast of changes and new procedures by attending educational seminars or classes and reading job related material.

Assess patients through review of previous studies and history to help in diagnosis.

Provides radiation protection in accordance with proper standards as set by State and Federal Req.

Covers other functions in the department as deemed necessary, including Dexa Scans.

Stays abreast of organizations, affiliate, and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift and attending/reading weekly huddles.

Provides clinical instruction to mammography students and helps co-workers as needed.

Qualifications/Training:

* Minimum of 3 years prior mammography experience. Breast Sonography experience a plus.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:

* Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology
* ARRT Registered in Radiology (R)
* ARRT Registered in Mammography (M)
* ARRT Registered in Breast Sonography (BS)
* SCQRSA State License
* BLS Certification
