JOB SUMMARY

Participates as a member of the CCL team in providing care for the patient in the Lab. Assists the physician during the various procedures performed in the CCL. These exams include patients of all age populations. Will be expected to rotate through the cardiac team positions, contributing to the efficient operation of the department, promoting Hamilton Medical Center's philosophy, and ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and assess data reflective of the patients current status in relation to their age specific needs. Must proactively support the efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and service. This is to include diagnostic and interventional procedures as well as device implants.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: At least an A.S. degree or its equivalent in health care related fields such as Nursing, Radiology Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or graduated from a CV Tech program.

Licensure: Holds a Current certification or licensure in area of expertise, such as Nursing, Radiology Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Cardiovascular Technology.

Experience: Meet minimum education requirements. Current ACLS is required for all staff in the Cath Lab.

Skills: Applicant must possess are be able to learn the following: Must be able to perform in critical care situations. Applicant must be trainable in all technological areas of the Cardiac Cath Lab (Physiological monitoring, Fluoroscopy, and related equipment). Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization. Must be able to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patients needs that are age appropriate. Must be able to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for age group of patient served. Will meet the expected Service Excellence Standards in place at Hamilton Medical Center. Applicant is expected to learn how to perform PCI (Percutaneous coronary Interventions)

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Worker must adjust to performing routine, repetitive tasks under specific supervision. Worker will be performing in a radiation area. Worker is required to be "on feet" most of the day and work is moderately heavy. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Worker must be able to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without affecting departmental flow. Is expected to prepare lab for procedures, assist physicians, met all competencies for the scrub, flouro, and recording tech. Expected to assist all other staff with patient setup and transport. Expected to maintain professional development. Will participate in the achievement of organizational and departmental goals. Will perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
