Elevator Mechanic (Union Hourly) - Essex Junction, VT

Immediate Openings

We are currently seeking qualified mechanics in our Vermont office for routes, repair, construction and modernization of elevators and escalators.

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES - MAINTEANCE AND REPAIR:

* Performing preventative maintenance/testing on escalators and elevators for a high profile account
* Performing repairs to escalators and elevators
* Troubleshooting and adjusting escalators and elevators, as needed
* Availability for overtime callback coverage
* Full compliance with all aspects of the Otis safety program

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES - CONSTRUCTION AND MODERNIZATION:

* Installation of new equipment
* Modernization of equipment in existing buildings
* Ability to work as a team member on large projects
* Troubleshooting and adjusting escalators and elevators, as needed
* Full compliance with all aspects of the Otis safety program

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

High school diploma is required.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

* Previous elevator experience, preferably a service route, repairs, construction and/or modernization, is required.
* Possess (or be able to obtain) an elevator mechanic's license in Vermont.

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

* Must be a current IUEC qualified journeyman mechanic member or become a member prior to employment.
* Must have elevator troubleshooting skills and experience on various types/brands of equipment especially Otis and TKE.
* Must be able to read prints.
* Ability to independently solve problems.
* Must possess effective and demonstrated customer service, communication and teaming skills.
