Position: Response to Intervention Coach

Qualifications:
  1. Must possess a valid South Dakota Teacher's Certificate.
  2. Knowledge of RtI as a three-tiered model
  3. Knowledge and expertise in assessment literacy
  4. Ability to communicate knowledge effectively to others
  5. Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with administrators, teachers, and staff.
  6. Leadership abilities

Reports to: Principal

Job Goal: RtI, a multi-level system of support, provides the structures to increase success for all students. RtI is a problem-solving process in which data analysis informs the decision-making process that is used to determine interventions to address the needs of students in all three tiers.

Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Organize CWG/RTI Teams to collaboratively review and determine Tier I, 2, or 3 placement for students who have been referred to the team for support services.
  2. Perform prescriptive assessments to determine specific areas of need for referred students.
  3. Plan and schedule Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
  4. Develop Individual Student Learning Plans for students who will be receiving Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions.
  5. Train Paraprofessionals in the implementation of Tier 2 and 3 interventions.
  6. Monitor implementation of Tier 2 and 3 interventions ensuring they are done with rigor and fidelity.
  7. Participate in CWG/RTI Team meetings to discuss and analyze progress monitoring data to determine progress of students receiving Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions and to determine next steps.
  8. Plan Tier 3 interventions.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment: Salary and work year will be established by the Oglala Lakota County School Board.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Principal.
