EMS Compliance Officer

The EMS Compliance Officer is a professional with the primary responsibility of keeping the EMS program in compliance with all state, national, and CoAEMSP/CAAHEP rules and regulations. The EMS Compliance Officer will also provide administrative support to the EMS Program Director, as needed. The EMS Compliance Officer is responsible for but not limited to, promoting the EMS program along with other programs within Robeson Community College's umbrella. The EMS Compliance Officer must also know the procedures of the College and the North Carolina Community College System. 

The EMS Compliance Officer reports to the EMS Department Program Director.The EMS Compliance Officer has the following duties and responsibilities:

             

Business Services Support

* Assisting with departmental budget as needed.
* Handles customer questions and problems in a timely and courteous manner.
* Works closely with the business office to rectify student accounts. 
* Complying with Fiscal Management System policies and procedures set forth for Robeson Community College.

  

Institutional Support

* Working a minimum of a 38-hour workweek in accordance with policies outlined in the Faculty Handbook.
* Assisting with the implementation and enforcement of all official policies and procedures of Robeson Community College.
* Attending meetings, conferences, seminars, briefings, and training sessions called to expedite the business of the college.
* Serving on college committees as assigned to expedite college business.
* Striving to exhibit a personal and professional deportment that reflects positively upon the individual and the public perception of the community college.

 

Public Relations Support

* Maintaining effective intra-institution relationships with members of the Board of Trustees, President's Senior Staff, Administrative Staff, faculty, and support personnel of the district.
* Providing appropriate liaison support with the North Carolina Community College System and other relational entities.
* Promoting Robeson Community College with local, state, regional, and national citizenry.

 

Professional/Personal Development

* Participating in Robeson Community College, North Carolina Community College System, and other authorized professional development programs upon request.

   

Program Support

* Handle customer questions and problems in a timely and courteous manner.
* Greeting students, visitors, employees, and peers with a pleasant, professional disposition.
* Maintain all records and student files, in accordance with NCOEMS, NC Community College system, and CoAEMSP/CAAHEP.
* Perform clerical duties, photocopying, fax machine, and shredder.
* Receives, screens, and places phone calls using proper etiquette. Upholds the confidentiality of the College.
* Placing supply and equipment orders through the e-procurement system
* Complete the requisition form for supplies and equipment.
* Typing documents from rough drafts
* Preparing memos, letters, and other forms of correspondence as directed using Microsoft Office Suite: Creating, editing, and proofing a variety of documents accurately.
* Entering basic alphanumeric data into computer database software and verifying it for accuracy.
* Effectively using Datatel, Team IA, and other Registration Management System functions to build sections and register students into the appropriate courses.
* Stay abreast of current admission requirements.
* Assist with registering evening classes.
* Receipting all monies collected for tuition and supply fees, to the business office in a timely manner.
* Preparing and organizing handouts, directories, handbooks, etc.
* Sorting and routing incoming/outgoing mail and correspondence.
* Processing leave slips
* Creating all contracts for courses
* Reviewing time sheets for accuracy and comparison to the contract for the course.
* Completing new hire paperwork, to include the I-9 form.
* Submitting total payroll for the month.
* Submitting total FTE accrued for the month. 

 

Other

* Performing other duties as assigned by the EMS Department Chair/ Program Director.

The EMS Compliance Officer must meet the following minimum qualifications:

 

Education

Minimum of an Associate degree from an accredited college. Preferably in Office System Technology or a related field. 

 

Experience

Two years' work experience in administrative office management or five years work experience as an administrative assistant.
