Psychotherapist - LCSW

Job Description

The Department of Psychiatry at Stamford Health is seeking an experienced full-time psychotherapist to join our integrated behavioral health service at Stamford Hospital. In 2023, The Department of Psychiatry launched an integrated behavioral health service to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in 3 medical clinics with patient populations known to have high rates of medical and psychiatric comorbidity: The Bennett Cancer Center, The Women's Specialty Clinic, and The Geriatric Medicine Clinic. Integrating psychiatric care into these clinics allows for a seamless referral process, decreased barriers to care, bidirectional flow of clinical information between medical providers and mental health clinicians, and interdisciplinary collaboration and learning.

Schedule: Monday through Friday. Primarily 9am to 5pm with occasional evening hours such as 10a to 6p or 11a to 7p.

Responsibilities

Specifically, you will:

• Perform intake assessments for patients new to the clinic.
• Provide direct treatment services to patients within the clinics utilizing appropriate modalities including individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention.
• Work closely and collaboratively with the program psychiatrist.
• Participate in interdisciplinary diagnostic and treatment planning conferences, including case presentations, and make recommendations regarding the needs of the patient from a social work perspective.
• Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Qualifications

We require:

• Masters in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
• Current CT licensure as an LCSW.
• 2+ years of experience with outpatient psychotherapy preferred.
• Good interpersonal verbal/written communication skills.
