Job-Specific Expectations

  • Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation.
  • Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
  • Fills vehicle with fuel.
  • Applies dressing on tires and tire wells.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Empties garbage into designated areas.
  • Opens lot for business and closes lot when closing. Keeps service drive clear and clean at all times.
  • Cleans customer lounge area and coffee area at all times.
  • Maintains appearance of entire lot.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Parks vehicles in accordance with policy and under direction of Sales/Marketing to ensure that the lot is attractive to potential buyers.
  • Assist Sales and Service Staff in moving vehicles to ensure efficient dealership operations.
  • Responsible for adding and maintaining key tags and window stickers on all lot vehicles.
  • Drives vehicles to other dealerships for 'dealer swaps' or to other vendors as requested.
  • May pick-up or deliver customers as requested using dealership vehicles.
  • Completes additional tasks as directed.

Requirements:

  • 1. High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in automotive technology or related field is a plus.
  • 2. Proven experience as a Service Writer/Advisor at an auto dealership, automotive repair facility, or similar environment.
  • 3. Strong knowledge of automotive systems, parts, and repairs, including familiarity with diagnostic tools and software.
  • 4. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to address customer concerns and build lasting relationships.
  • 5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical information in a clearandunderstandable manner.
  • 6. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • 7. Proficient computer skills and experience with automotive management software or similar systems.
  • 8. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • 9. Positive attitude, team player mentality, and a strong work ethic.
  • 10. Time management skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • 11. Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing automotive technologies.
