Summary:

The Project Chief Nursing Officer position reports to Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer and works closely with Region Leadership at time of an assignment. The Project CNO is responsible for the training and development of newly hired Chief Nursing Officers, coaching and mentoring existing CNOs, serving as Interim CNO as needed, providing assistance on specific nursing or staffing projects and managing various projects within Nursing, Safety & Quality. The position requires 90-100% travel to hospitals at direction of SVP/CNO.

* The Project CNO will participate in the functional decision-making processes necessary to the successful attainment of the hospital's mission in addition to maintaining an awareness of changes in healthcare environment such as but not limited to financial matters that could have an impact on the financial success of the hospital.
* The Project CNO should be well-versed in the company's Community Cares patient-care and strategic imperatives culture and ensure they are being observed at all hospitals.

Education:

* Master's degree in Nursing, Business or Health Administration from an accredited institution.

Experience:

* 7+ years of demonstrated successful leadership in an acute-care hospital environment; for-profit experience preferred
* Recent for-profit acute care CNO experience; within a hospital system preferred;
* Must possess detailed knowledge of hospital nursing operations and current regulatory requirements
* Experience with various EMR's preferred

Certifications:

* Must be a registered nurse (RN) with current licensure in each of the states where services are provided.

Abilities:

* Must be proficient in written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff, physicians, patients, patient's families, and community
* Ability to maintain confidential information concerning personal, financial, or medical matters
* A sound foundation of AONE Nurse Executive competencies (communication and relationship management, Knowledge of Healthcare environment Business Skills (to include HR), Professionalism & Leadership is essential.
