Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Transporter in Patient Transport, you will be responsible for the transportation of patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens throughout the facility. You will clean and maintain equipment for transporting, and maintain friendly and professional interactions with patients and family members.You will transport patients using the appropriate mode of transportation as indicated on the exam requisitionYou will notify nursing staff of patient location, and will sign patients in and out appropriatelyYou will monitor the patient's general health while transporting and report any significant changes in patient conditionYou will prioritize the retrieval of patients using the exam schedule and request of technologistsYou will facilitate the comfort and needs of the patient before, during, and after the examYou will perform minor equipment repairs and general upkeepRequirements 1 year of experience in the medical field - preferredLicenses and CertificationsBasic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Our services include a nationally accredited oncology program with the areas only adult Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program; advanced trauma care with a Level II trauma center; comprehensive cardiac, stroke and orthopedic programs; full-service maternity and newborn care; and two full-service emergency centers in the communities of Bee Cave and Bastrop. St. Davids South Austin Medical Center is affiliated with the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery. We offer advanced robotic services for orthopedics, open heart and lung surgery, complex GI surgery, surgical oncology, general surgery, colorectal surgery, and urology. It was one of the first hospitals in Central Texas to combine the use of CT imaging and robotics to detect early stage lung cancer.
