Secretary (OA)

This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Crow Agency in Crow Agency, Montana. Incumbent provides clerical support to the Realty Office.

TRAVEL AND RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE AUTHORIZED. ANY RELOCATION EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH REPORTING FOR DUTY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SELECTED EMPLOYEE.

The following table shows the amounts of education and/or experience required to qualify for positions covered by this standard.

GS-4: One year of general experience OR 2 years above high school.

General Experience: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

GS-5: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-4 level OR 4 years above high school.

Specialized Experience: Serve as office receptionist; receiving, screening, and distributing mail; using a computer to prepare documents, reports, and correspondence; serving as a timekeeper; performing records management; coordinating meetings.

Proficiency Requirements: Position with Parenthetical Title of Office Automation - In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of 40 word per minute typing speed. Applicants may meet this requirement by self-certifying their proficiency. Experience using automation and computers for supply management is highly desired.
