Responsibilities:

* Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the health and safety team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
* Policy Development and Implementation: Collaborate with the safety managers and project coordinator to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures, and programs for various sectors.
* Risk Management: Oversee risk assessment activities to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks effectively. Provide guidance on risk management to clients and project teams.
* Training and Education: Coordinate and deliver health and safety training and education programs for employees, clients, and stakeholders. Ensure that all training materials are up-to-date and relevant.
* Incident Management: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop recommendations for corrective actions. Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding incident management and resolution.
* Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about changes in health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and standards. Provide guidance and support to clients and project teams on regulatory compliance issues.
* Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on health and safety matters. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and problem-solving.
* Public Speaking: Represent SAI Group at client meetings, conferences, and industry events, delivering presentations on health and safety topics. Demonstrate strong public speaking skills and the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in the construction or telecommunications industry.
* Strong leadership and team management skills with experience overseeing a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant health and safety standards.
* Proven track record of developing and implementing effective health and safety programs.
* Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and emergency response planning.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with ISO 9001: Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is a plus. It demonstrates familiarity with quality management principles and a commitment to continuous improvement in processes and procedures.

Recommended Certifications:

* OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training: This certification provides comprehensive training on construction safety standards, including identifying and mitigating hazards commonly found on construction sites.
* Certified Safety Professional (CSP): While not directly issued by OSHA, the CSP certification is widely recognized in the occupational safety and health field. It demonstrates advanced knowledge and expertise in safety management, risk assessment, hazard control, and regulatory compliance.
* OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Certification: If the role involves oversight of hazardous waste operations or emergency response activities, this certification is essential. It covers safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and responding to emergencies.
* OSHA Confined Space Entry Certification: If the company works in environments with confined spaces, such as telecommunications vaults or construction trenches, this certification provides training on safely working in and around confined spaces.
* OSHA Fall Protection Certification: Given the nature of construction and telecommunications work, ensuring compliance with fall protection standards is crucial. Certification in fall protection covers the proper use of fall protection equipment and techniques for preventing falls.
* OSHA Electrical Safety Certification: If the role involves overseeing work near electrical systems or infrastructure, certification in electrical safety is essential. This certification covers safe work practices related to electrical hazards.
* OSHA Respiratory Protection Certification: If the role involves tasks that may expose workers to respiratory hazards, such as dust, fumes, or chemicals, certification in respiratory protection ensures proper selection, use, and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment.
