Sleep Lab Tech

Part-time, Nights: 8 pm - 6:30 am

As a Sleep Lab Tech at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, you'll join a team that has been committed to caring for the local community for 150 years and be a part of a culture that's dedicated to improving lives. Requirements:

* High school diploma or GED plus 6 months of direct patient care experience or 1 year of post-secondary education.
* Must currently be enrolled in an accredited educational program leading to a Certification by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) or equivalent.
* Typing and computer keyboard skills are essential.
* Previous experience in customer service or healthcare environments is beneficial.
* A high degree of clerical accuracy; excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
* Excellent customer service skills are required.
* BLS must be completed prior to the end of the orientation period.
* In no less than 24 months duration: Must successfully complete an accredited educational program with an emphasis in polysomnography; or successful completion of a polysomnography program associated with a state-licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility; or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician and Certification by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) or equivalent.

* The Sleep Technician performs and evaluates overnight polysomnograms under the medical director.
