PRN: This position works PRN/Relief, as needed.

The pharmacist is responsible for providing daily pharmacy services to all patients of Village Pharmacy in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulation.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations promoting safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Interact with other departments in and outside of Home of the Innocents as part of an interdisciplinary approach to providing care and problem solving daily.
  • Dispense medications and other goods as ordered by prescribers daily.
  • Clinically evaluate medications being dispensed for safety, effectiveness, and appropriate use daily.
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians daily.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of B.S. or Pharm.D. degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school or college of pharmacy.
  • Must possess and maintain a pharmacist's license in good standing in the state of Kentucky.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be able to learn new computer systems quickly.
  • 1-3 years of experience in retail and long-term care pharmacy, preferred.

Working Conditions
  • This position may require work beyond normal working hours as needed.
  • Frequent interruptions may occur.

Physical Requirements
  • This job does not involve any reasonable risk of exposure to blood or body fluids.
  • This job does involve threat of repetitive motion injury.
  • The job has a 20 lb. minimum weight lifting requirement.
  • This job requires moderate prolonged sitting, standing, and bending.
