Assists with administrative duties such as program planning, developing, managing and coordinating the day to day operation of CORE Kids; works effectively with and supervises staff, communicates with families and children, and connects with the C.O.R.E. (Center of Recreational Excellence) guests under the direction of the CORE Kids Supervisor.ESSENTIAL DUTIES

* Assists the Supervisor with the management of day to day operations of CORE Kids. Supervises staff including staff scheduling; ensures staff is trained; ensures employees understand and follow policies and procedures; maintains a healthy and safe working environment; and makes staff disciplinary recommendations.  
* Oversees the CORE Kids Specialists and assists with kid watch.
* Supervises the check-in and check-out procedures for accuracy, child safety, customer service, and filing or electronically scanning of all COREkids forms.
* Oversees the upkeep of the CORE Kids area.
* Maintains direct communication with the CORE Kids Supervisor and Guest Services Coordinators regarding any issues or concerns with staff and/or guests.
* May assist Guest Services Coordinator with employee evaluations.
* Articulates knowledge of programs and services, policies, and procedures. 
* Adheres to assigned work schedule. 
* Implements the CORE mission and Team Standards.
* Follows all Standard Operating Procedures within CORE Kids.
* Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors or abuse.
* May serve on various employee committees, as required and assigned.

This position is subject to the City of Hobbs' Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes one or more of the following: pre-employment testing, post accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing and follow-up testing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 Graduation from high school or high school equivalency (HSE) preferred with at least one (1) year of childcare experience required. Customer service experience preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

* Applicant must be dependable. 
* Applicant must be available to work flexible hours.
* Applicant must be able to supervise team members and work in a team atmosphere. 
* Ability to utilize basic computer skills.
* Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships up and down the chain of command.

* Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment. 
* Must be able to function effectively with people under stressful and demanding situations.
* Must be proficient in verbal and written communication. 
* Bilingual Preferred 

 LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS 

* Valid state issued driver's license preferred
* Ability to obtain Infant/Youth/Adult First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
* Ability to obtain Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification required within 30 days of hire.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Work under the general supervision of the CORE Kids Supervisor, CORE Guest Services Coordinators and CORE Facility Director.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

Limited supervision of CORE Kids Specialists 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

 

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate controls and reach with upper and lower body and hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may be required to stand up to a four (4) hour period of time.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office and moderately loud when in other parts of the facility.
