Job Summary and Qualifications
The Telemetry Technician is responsible for continuous monitoring of telemetry rhythms, vital signs and oxygen saturations as applicable. This position requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, squatting, bending, and kneeling. Occasionally requires lifting and carrying objects a minimum of 50 pounds and occasional pulling / pushing objects greater than 50 pounds. Regularly requires adjusting patient position in bed, lifting, transferring and/or ambulating patients. When patient's weight excludes ability to independently lift/transfer/ambulate patient safely, requires use of judgment and focused decision-making to identify and use additional persons assistance, or to identify and use lifting equipment. Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and functional vision and hearing, with or without correction.
What you will do in this role:
* Continuously observes monitors to note changes in rhythms and oxygen saturation when applicable.
* Responds immediately and appropriately to alarms.
* Notifies Charge Nurse and patient care RN of rhythm changes and a drop in oxygen saturations below baseline as applicable.
* Posts and interprets rhythm strip every shift and with changes.
* Adheres to the Hospital's policies and demonstrates compliance with the Code of Conduct
* Adheres to the Hospital's Safety policies and demonstrates safety practices in patient care.
* Attends and is involved in in-services and staff meetings on a regular basis at least 75%.
What qualifications you will need:
* This position requires successful completion of the Basic Dysrhythmia Course or successful challenge of the course (passes final test by 80%) within 6 months
* Required License: Current listing with Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I in state of Idaho
* Required Certification: BLS
Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318+ patient beds. Our hospital is the largest medical facility in the region. We serve southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park, and parts of Montana. Our facility has an ER, a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (one of two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho. We have the region's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for critically ill children. Our 74-bed Behavioral Health Center offers inpatient and outpatient mental health care for adolescents and adults.
