Status: Full-Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary of Position: Violence Interrupter provides conflict mediation services with a designated target area.

* Violence Interrupters are expected to work 40 hours per week according to site specific hours.
* Duties of the Violence Interrupter include but are not limited to:
* Detecting potential shooting events and identify individuals at the highest risk of involvement in a shooting or a killing, will formulate action plans to resolve conflicts, develop relationships with key individuals and meet with them daily, coach individuals on how to handle stressful events without shooting, mediate conflicts between groups and individuals, prevent retaliatory violence before it occurs, train individuals and groups specific strategies to bring about behavior change, document daily log of all efforts as required in the designated database, attend daily briefings and debriefings, attend team meetings weekly, and submit all required documents and reports as scheduled by OEMII

Qualifications/Requirements: Minimum High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

* Four (4) years of experience in youth development, violence prevention, and/or case management.
* Extensive experience working with at-risk youth and adults.
* Excellent communication and writing skills

Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current automobile insurance coverage.
