American Stone is looking to hire a full-time Local Delivery Driver with a Class B License to deliver a wide variety of stone products to retail customers, landscaping and masonry contractors. Mechanic ability is a plus. Do you have excellent interpersonal skills, with an energetic and outgoing personality? American Stone is a supplier of a wide variety of stone and related products for landscaping, masonry, construction contractors, and retail DIY customers. It all began with 2 brothers deciding to create their own success with a quarry stone. We now operate 5 retail store locations and 25 quarries throughout. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CLASS B DRIVER

As a full-time Class B Driver, you play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of our stone products to a diverse clientele, including retail customers, landscaping and masonry contractors, and various store locations around the Salt Lake area. Your day begins with loading, unloading, preparing, and inspecting your delivery vehicle, ensuring it is in optimal condition for the day's routes. You follow the schedule specified by the dispatcher, navigating different addresses and routes, including challenging mountain roads and dirt paths. Throughout your deliveries, you inform customers and contractors about new products and services, seek feedback on provided services, and resolve any complaints promptly. Your responsibilities extend to performing inspections and preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing fleet equipment, and conducting thorough safety checks on vehicles and equipment. You meticulously complete logs, reports, and timecards, maintaining a clean and safe work area. Adhering to DOT regulations and safety standards is paramount, especially when working in extreme weather conditions. Your ability to operate the necessary equipment to load and secure the stone products ensures every delivery is executed smoothly and safely. Your dedication and attention to detail contribute significantly to the satisfaction of our customers and the overall success of our operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Prior Experience: 10+ years as a delivery driver.
* Required Skills: Clean driving record with no traffic violations.
* Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Valid CDL with proper endorsement.
* Valid Medical Card.
* Driving is primarily local with limited over night travel.
* Experience driving a flat bed and dump truck helpful.
* Education Required: High school diploma preferred.
* Pre-employee Screening Requirements:
* Must have a clean criminal record. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

The ability to speak Spanish is a plus. Personality and attitude are more important than experience.

DRIVER WORK SCHEDULE

The schedule is negotiable, but should generally be during our business hours. Saturdays are our busiest days of the week.
