POSITION SUMMARY: A Paid Childcare Caregiver at RPC is a member of the childcare staff. This person is responsible for adhering to the mission statement while providing dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children in our care.

DURATION OF COMMITMENT: Scheduled as needed

ACCOUNTABILITY: Childcare Director and NextGen Pastor

Children Ministry Mission and Vision

Mission Statement: Partnering with parents to build strong spiritual foundations while encouraging our children to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Vision Statement: To welcome each child into a safe and clean environment that communicates truth in an engaging and relevant way so that no child leaves without knowing they need Christ as their Savior, they need to serve, and they need Godly support.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide for the emotional, physical and social needs of children while they are in your care
  • Interact and actively engage with children
  • Teach curriculum and lead crafts and activities provided
  • Supervise children in classroom, playground, etc while they are in your care
  • Change diapers and assist younger children in bathroom (caregiver must be 18 years to change diapers)
  • Work well with other childcare staff and volunteers
  • Maintain good and positive communication with parents
  • At end of program, clean room, wipe down tables, sanitize toys etc. and take trash to designated area
  • Be in class at scheduled time and stay until all children are picked up and room is cleaned
  • Keep classroom neat and organized and notify childcare leader of supply needs
  • Know and follow RPC Kids Volunteer Handbook
  • Complete Child Protection Training and Criminal Background check as required
  • Commit to pray for this ministry, specifically for the children in your care

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Is a believer in Jesus Christ and has a heart for His children
  • Has a passion for influencing children's lives with God's love and message
  • Is passionate about creating environments that teach God's truth in an engaging and relevant way to children
  • Has a heart for empowering parents to be the primary influence in a child's spiritual life
  • Has completed a background check and volunteer application
  • Is dependable and flexible
  • Maintains a balance between doing ministry and being ministered to
  • Works well independently and with a team
  • Is intuitive to the needs of children, parents and volunteers
  • Desires to build relationships with childcare workers, ministry volunteers and RPC families
  • Is compassionate and handles matters with sensitivity and grace
  • Reports any needs and issues that may need the attention of the Childcare Director in a timely manner
