Forklift Operator

POSITION SUMMARY
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stock and count equipment or supplies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(This is a representative list of the duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive.)
* Operate the forklift to lift, move and position machinery, equipment, products or other large objects
* Use proper hoisting attachments and observe the load before movement occurs to ensure that it is secure
* Compare load weight with the capacity of the forklift in order to prevent overloading
* Perform a pre-inspection on any equipment operated
* Assist in the maintenance and routine housekeeping of the work area and equipment being used
* Manipulate forklift controls in a safe manner and direct the forklift to the appropriate destination while effectively communicating via written, oral and/or signaled instructions
* Obey and follow all safety rules and policies
* Wear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE)
* Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
* High School diploma or equivalent education
* 2+ years forklift operating experience
* Basic written and verbal skills
* Ability to perform basic mathematical skills
* Must be reliable and have the ability to accept responsibility for his/her actions
* For new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen
* For new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy Services
