GET TO KNOW THE ROLE

The Barista is responsible for delivering guest service while taking orders and presenting food and beverages to our guests. The Barista plays a pivotal role in creating a refined and elevated guest experience, highlighting expertise in coffee preparation, personalized service, and attention to detail.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Exemplifies MCR's values and set a great example by always demonstrating excellent guest service and professionalism.
* Practice, support, and promote the vision, mission, and values of the Muckleshoot Casino Resort.
* Expertly prepare and serve a wide range of specialty coffee, espresso-based drinks, loose-leaf teas, and other high-quality beverages.
* Accurately take food and beverage orders promoting and recommending menu options to guests.
* Clean and maintain work areas and equipment, before, during, and after guests are served.
* Help guests select food and beverage items (i.e., explaining daily specials or answering preparation questions).
* Operate espresso bar machine and prepare beverages ranging from simple to elaborate drinks.
* Provide personalized recommendations and assist guests in customizing their orders to suit their preferences, such as adjusting coffee strength, milk alternatives, or flavor additions.
* Follow standards for display cases; maintain, clean, and restock as needed.
* Assist in training new baristas, sharing knowledge, and techniques to maintain a high standard of beverage preparation.
* Ensure guest satisfaction by delivery of food and beverage in an efficient and friendly manner.
* Follow cash handling and cash register procedures.
* Reconciliation of daily "end of shift" financial transactions.
* Perform assigned daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
* Inform management of guest requests, inventory shortages, replenishment needs, and food spoilage.
* Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
* Smile and engage guests and team members with a positive, professional demeanor.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

* Ability to obtain a Class III B gaming license.
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* A minimum of six (6) months of experience as a Counter/Barista is preferred.
* Required to have and maintain a valid WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit.

HOW YOU'LL BE SUCCESSFUL

* Knowledge of computers, basic software, and POS systems.
* Knowledge of health & safety standards and regulations as required.
* Skilled in cash handling and excellent guest service.
* Ability to demonstrate a well-groomed presence and always maintain a professional appearance.
* Ability to effectively communicate and train staff.
* Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
* Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of products and procedures.
* Ability multi-task in a high-pressure environment, with attention to detail.
* Ability to anticipate guest needs and exceed their expectations while maintaining an approachable and friendly demeanor.
* Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.

WHAT TO EXPECT

* Availability - Ability to work different shifts, holidays, weekends, and nights to support a 24/7 operation.
* Physical - Ability to maneuver in all areas of the casino, ascent/descent from stairs, frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and/or prolonged periods focusing on tasks. Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. May regularly need to lift/ move, push, or pull up material or boxes necessary to the job function, with or without assistance.
* Environment - Exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) while working and traversing on the gaming floor.
