The Cardio Catheterization Technician performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist the physicians during cardiovascular procedures and surgeries.

* Uses imaging equipment to help doctors detect and treat any heart and blood vessel issues. Takes patients' medical history and answers patients' questions before any procedure is done.


* Ensures that the equipment is in good working order and ready for use. Executes any noninvasive course of action, such as ultrasound images.


* Evaluates images to ensure good quality and makes sure that area in question is included.


* Keeps abreast of the differences between a normal image and an abnormal image.


* Communicates with the physician regarding the results of the image. Assists the physician with inserting catheters and other invasive procedures.


* Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

* Associate degree or equivalent



Experience:

* Minimum 1 years of relevant experience



Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

* Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.


* Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.


* Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.


* Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
