Job Overview

We have an opportunity for a Full Time Certified Prosthetist Orthotist to join our team. The department posted hours are 8AM-430PM.

Responsibilities

The Prosthetist/Orthotist is responsible for:

* The assessment, measurement, casting, modification, fabrication and fitting of prosthetic and orthotic devices under appropriate prescription criteria.
* Evaluates Orthotic and Prosthetic prescription for appropriateness and need for specific design criteria.
* Knowledge of CAD O&P Design.
* Development of patient treatment plans including the design of the appropriate device and component selection in accordance to the physician prescription.
* Teaches patient, families and staff appropriate care and wear of Orthosis/Prosthesis, maintenance and use.
* Appropriate, timely and compliant patient documentation utilizing EMR system; and the establishment of short and long term patient goals for documented outcomes.
* Direct the technical staff in fabrication of specific orthotic and prosthetic devices following an organized and orderly work flow with reasonable delivery dates of the orthosis/prosthesis to patients.
* Assesses quality of finished devices when fitted to patients.
* Assists technicians in maintaining machines and equipment.
* Performs all other duties as assigned by the department head.

Qualifications

Required

* Bachelors Degree
* American Board of Certification in Orthotics (ABC)

Preferred

* Masters of Science in Prosthetics & Orthotics
* 2 years clinical and technical O and P experience
* 1 year Pediatric experience
* BLS
