Loureiro Contractors, Inc. (LCI) is a general contractor with a broad range of experience in heavy/highway and civil/site development, environmental remediation and demolition. Our in-house capabilities include: sitework, concrete, soil/groundwater/sediment remediation, roadways, bridges, earth retaining systems, underground utilities, and UST removal and replacement.

Loureiro Contractors, Inc. (LCI) is searching for a knowledgeable and experienced General Superintendent for projects in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

LCI's goal is to hire individuals with a passion for construction to help us grow as a company, and in turn offer opportunities for personal growth within the company.

Responsibilities:

* Promote job site safety and encourage safe work practices
* Prepare work schedule, determine manpower requirements, material quantities, equipment needs, and supervise completion of final punch list
* Work with other superintendents and make updates to project schedule daily
* Direct all field personnel to complete the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to the plans and specifications
* Advise Project Manager of potential or real problems and assist in resolving them
* Supervise Foreman, laborers/craft workers and subcontractors assigned to an area of responsibility; act as liaison between field engineering and foreman, laborers/craft workers, and ensure work complies with drawings and specifications
* Review production reports weekly, initiate field change requests, and prepare vendor or subcontractor back charges with the Project Manager/Project Engineer
* Monitor work performance and productivity of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications, procedures, quality, and safety requirements.
* Conduct daily walkthrough of the project site(s) ensuring work is being accomplished safely and occupational health is not compromised
* Ensures project safety policies are implemented and followed, to include HASP's, JHA's, and Tool Box Talks
* Provide updated three week look ahead and 90-day schedule for the Project Manager and owner(s)
* Conduct quality inspections and coordinate onsite testing and inspections.
* Maintain daily diary of any activities using HeavyJob
* Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and management
* Perform other duties as assigned
* Familiarity with working in a union environment is a plus

Requirements:

* 8+ years of bridge construction experience with 3+ years in a Superintendent/Leadership role
* Current OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card; or the ability to acquire a current card
* High School Diploma or GED required along with valid driver's license
* Experience in scheduling, field supervision of civil construction crews, running meetings, and monitoring production
* Strong leadership/organizational skills to keep the project on schedule and on track
* Must be a self-starter and be highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
* Ability to quickly learn LCI's various policies, procedures, and software programs
* Ability to identify and resolve problems as they arise
* Ability to look at and understand plans and specifications for the project
* Ability to look at issues from various different angles and render good judgement

Physical Requirements

* Ability to perform tasks that require flexibility such as bending, kneeling, climbing, or reaching.
* Excellent agility to safely navigate construction sites, including uneven surfaces, heights, and potential hazards.
* Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving up to 100 pounds.
* Proficient in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
* Ability to adapt to adverse weather conditions and exposure to loud noises.
