Position Description
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) invites applications for seven tenured/tenure-track faculty positions at the Associate or Assistant Professor ranks. The preference is for appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Research in the ECE Department is divided into five broad areas: Semiconductor Devices, Circuits and Systems, Signals and Systems, Power and Energy Systems, and Computing Systems and Computer Engineering. This search focuses on semiconductor devices, computing systems, and computer engineering. We are interested in micro/nanoelectronics and semiconductor device research areas, including new device physics, emerging technologies, semiconductor manufacturing, packaging, and heterogeneous integration. In the computing-related area, we are interested in AI processors, AI architectures, computing at the edge, quantum computing architecture, and quantum communications. In addition, the search will consider exceptional candidates with research interests that belong to the Energy Science and Technology and Transportation Science and Technology thrusts of the five critical research thrusts of the Jonsson School. This search focuses on electrical and computer engineering aspects of the two thrusts mentioned above. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the core curriculum and the candidate's specialization area. In addition to teaching, the position requires an active research agenda, publication, and service in the UT Dallas and professional communities.
The appointment is expected to start in the fall 2025 semester.

We are seeking candidates able to produce research and scholarly or creative achievements that enhance the program and the discipline, and able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
