This position will be supporting the Goddard School and The Academy both located in Worcester.

Position Summary: Performs a variety of duties as a member of the FHCW School Based Health Center (SBHC) team including school-wide mental health prevention and promotion, early intervention, and clinical assessment and treatment services to children and adults.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains working knowledge of and adheres to the program Manual, agency handbook and Policies and Procedures
  • Commitment to providing cost conscious, fiscally responsible, timely, efficient, effective, safe, patient-centered, culturally competent, equitable, and participatory health care.
  • Attends all required trainings as per Agency Policy, Program Manual and Funder Guidelines.
  • Arrives on time for work, remains at work for whole shift, regular and predicable attendance.
  • Maintains appropriate boundaries and ethical standards with staff, clients, visitors and outside providers as detailed in Agency Policy.
  • Maintains positive and professional working relationships with co-workers, managers, clients, visitors and outside providers
  • Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills (includes but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)

Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Works with School Based Director and School Based leadership team and will collaborate with primary care, care management and Worcester Public School staff to manage the overall delivery of care to patients in School Based Health Centers.
  • Provides brief, evidence-based, behavioral interventions for children and adolescents, and their families.
  • Takes leadership role in providing case management services; initial assessment and brief interventions.
  • Coordinates teacher consultations, other mental health providers, and referrals to meet the needs of the student/patient.
  • Maintains same-day and next-day availability for patients in need of behavioral health services.
  • Plans and presents classroom sessions and staff professional development for school staff.
  • Provides interventions that are culturally sensitive, strength focused, and evidence-based.
  • Documents student/patient visit, patient care, and treatment decisions in the medical record.
  • Collaborates with referring provider on medical record and access to notes.
  • Attends advisories, student support team meetings, Individual Education Plans (IEP) as needed.
  • The Manager will provide direct care as a Master's Level Clinician II/LICSW.
  • Interviews, trains, and coaches new and existing staff.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

One of the following combinations of education and employment experience must be met in order to be considered for the position:

Experience

Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling required.

Two to four years direct patient care and managed care experience preferred; public sector experience may be applicable.

Experience working with children and adolescents required. This experience may be in an internship.

  • Candidate must be eligible for and actively working towards obtaining an LICSW or LMHC, or other similar credentials. Licensure must be secured within six months from date of hire.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the understanding of common objectives of school staff and behavioral health providers strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with schools and/or community organizations to develop and implement strategies to foster school environment and retention of students.
  • Bilingual in English and another language appropriate to the health center's patient population preferred, but not required.
