JOB SUMMARY

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, providing diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients ranging in age from infant through late adolescents, proper maintenance of records, acting as the Supervisory Physician of Mid-level Providers, train medical students and residents, and any other reasonable and proper duties assigned.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  1. Perform histories, physicals and prescribing a diagnostic, education, preventive and/or treatment plan within the standards of accepted medical practice


  1. Perform/interpret and/or order labs, diagnostic procedures, and making appropriate referrals as necessary


  1. Maintain patient records and close within designated time


  1. Adhere to proper charting protocols


  1. Coordinate continuity of medical care for patients


  1. Promote health by advising patients on diet, hygiene and prevention of disease


  1. Inoculate and vaccinate as required


  1. Perform procedures and minor surgery as necessary


  1. Report deaths and contagious diseases to governmental authorities


  1. Supervisory Physician of Mid-level providers as required


  1. Educate and teach medical students, residents, and clinical students as required


  1. Other duties as indicated.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Doctoral degree, either M.D. or D.O., in medicine


  1. Minimum of 5 years experience, preferred


  1. Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a clinical environment, preferred


  1. Must have and maintain current Florida License in good standing


  1. Board Eligible or Board Certification, preferred


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  1. Effective written, verbal and electronic communication skills


  1. Show initiative, creativity and problem-solving ability


  1. Ability to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcare


  1. Ability to work under pressure


  1. Computer literacy


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Prior experience using an electronic medical records system


  1. Bilingual a plus, but not required


RELATIONSHIP REPORTING

  1. Reports to the Chief Medical Officer


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Communicate effectively with patients and staff


  1. Be able to sit, stand or view a computer screen for extended periods of time


  1. Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time


  1. Be able to use hand and fingers to handle or feel


  1. Be able to reach with hands and arms
