Job Summary: Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse - Allergy at our East Windsor Office. The Licensed Practical Nurse - Allergy will provide a high level of general care and education to patients by using their knowledge and skills to promote the goal of The Ultimate Patient Experience. Allergy experience strongly preferred, but not required.

Schedule: Full time, 30+ hours. Availability Monday through Friday during business hours of 7am-7pm.

Essential Functions:

* Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s).
* Provide general care and education to patients in accordance with OSHA regulations.
* Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including allergy shots, under the direct or indirect supervision from a provider.
* Prepare necessary supplies for allergy testing and treatments.
* Perform lung function testing (FeNO and Spirometry) with and without bronchodilators.
* Assist in the interpretation of patch testing results and perform placement and removal as directed by an RN or provider.
* Maintain the immunotherapy room with necessary supplies and materials, ensuring cleanliness.
* Administer allergy shots and ensuring provider is on site.
* Observes, records and reports patients' vitals and reactions to treatments.
* Assesses patients' needs and suggest solutions to patient care problems.
* Supervise triaging of patient communications (through email and/or portal).
* Maintains accurate patient records, document all visits in EMR.
* Assures patient stays for required observation time after injections.
* Learn and perform immunotherapy vial mixing procedures and proper documentation in accordance with current regulations.
* Reacts appropriately in patient reaction situations, informs physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions.
* Assist providers in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, prescriptions, prior authorization (including biologics), and procedures within established guidelines.
* Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider's next steps to the best of their ability.
* Demonstrate clinical competence and sound knowledge base in the provision of quality patient care.
* Ensure allergy test sets and emergency kits are filled, current, and up to date.
* Confirm that insurance benefits have been verified prior to the preparation of allergy serums.
* Serve as a role model and consultant to staff.
* Regularly interact with physicians, other providers, and staff to identify and resolve problems.
* Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and related materials; and by attending seminars and conferences as needed.
* Report improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to the supervisor.
* Perform inventory responsibilities, including but not limited to, ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested.
* Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities.
* Other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Regional Manager on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:

* Allergy experience strongly preferred.
* Graduate from an LPN education program approved by the respective state Education Department.
* Pass the NCLEX-PN examination.
* Active LPN license in the state working in required.
* Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
* Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Excellent patient relations and customer service skills.
* Open availability to work during weekdays.
* Working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance.
