This position supports schools and districts in providing analysis of student data and implementation of best practices to address inequality gaps in school culture. Applicants should have strong quantitative analytical skills as well as foundational knowledge of adult learning theory and coaching.

The Specialist in School Culture and Equity will have demonstrated success in three areas:
1.) Data analysis and translation of findings into action at the site and district level. They will lead efforts to create custom reports for school sites that highlight findings from multiple data sources pointing to inequitable outcomes and then propose best practices to address inequitable outcomes. They will work closely with other departments within SCOE to coordinate, combine and align efforts to address inequitable outcomes visible in other data.
2.) Survey implementation. Lead efforts to promote the YouthTruth survey, including enrollment of districts, tracking of implementation, and coordination with community partners.
3.) Grant writing. Identify funding opportunities and complete grants to improve school culture for sites and districts.

The Specialist is expected to remain current with educational research connected to school culture. The Specialist will also collaborate with community organizations and department members on school culture related projects.

Education:
-Master's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required.

Experience:
-In administrative positions with progressively increasing responsibility and professional experience in the field of education.
-In staff development and/or in-service training experience.

Credentials:
-Appropriate valid California Teaching Credential or Pupil Personnel Services is required.
-Appropriate valid California Administrative Services credential or enrollment in a program to pursue one is preferred.
