Overview of the Payroll Coordinator role
Wayspring is currently hiring a Payroll Coordinator. This role will be responsible for various duties related to payroll, including being the liaison between Wayspring and the payroll vendor. A successful candidate for this role will have a high level of attention to detail, confidentiality, and dependability. This role reports to the VP, Controller and works closely with the Wayspring Human Resources team.
Responsibilities of the Payroll Coordinator
* Oversees payroll processing support
* Collaborates with various departments to gather information relating to payroll
* Calculates wages, deductions and taxes
* Ensures contributions to third parties occur and reconcile to payroll
* Maintains records accurately and manages updates to employee records in Wayspring's HRIS, UKG.
* Reconciles EDI enrollment files
* Registers for new jurisdictions, prepare filings for jurisdictions not covered by payroll processor.
* Generates payroll reports used for accounting purposes, ad hoc reporting
* Identifies opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll processing
* Functions as the UKG subject matter expert for all things related to payroll processes
* Serves as the liaison between Wayspring and Payroll Processing vendor (HRMS)
* Manages Wayspring's Payroll email inbox and responds to employee inquiries
* Focuses on problem resolution, customer service, and collaboration
* Maintains a high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
* Other duties and projects as assigned
* Adheres to Wayspring information security and privacy requirements
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
* High School degree required
* 2+ years payroll and benefits experience, or similar experience
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams
* Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Problem resolution, customer service, collaboration
* Excellent organizational skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
* Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
