Job Description

Lying just inland between the State's coastal mountain ranges and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Adventist Health Reedley has been serving the Central Valley since 2011. We are comprised of a 49-bed acute care hospital and 60 clinics in 27 rural communities with primary and specialty care services. Job Summary:

Develops, maintains, and implements actuarial models. Collaborates with Adventist Health leadership, shared service groups, and our hospital markets to leverage actuarial best practices in the execution of Adventist Health's mission. Advises on rate structures, reserve levels, and other strategies relevant to ensuring sound financial outcomes. Leads or provides support on financial risk analysis and reporting, trend analysis, forecasting, utilization studies, and claims liability models.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actual Science, or a related field or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Master's Degree: Preferred
  • Three years' related experience: Preferred
  • Successfully passed at least 5 actuarial exams: Preferred

Essential Functions:
  • Creates, maintains, and modifies detailed financial, statistical, and actuarial models. Assists in the development of detailed financial models and reporting, and derives conclusions to help craft insights for optimal business strategies.
  • Applies advanced knowledge of probability, statistics, and mathematical finance to analyze business practices, produce forecasts, and finds insightful ways to improve business execution.
  • Conducts analyses of reserve levels, liabilities, premiums, and pricing levels.
  • Analyzes insurance plans, and claims and benefit data.
  • Conducts analyses of population health risk scores, reserve levels, and reimbursement terms.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
