You will be supporting the permanent housing support project for our 8 unit apartment building. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Good oral and written communication skills are a MUST.
CPR certification is a plus.
Position Overview
The Program Director is responsible for providing leadership in developing, planning, organizing, and directing the activities associated with permanent supportive housing.
Key duties include building collaborative partnerships, establishing multi-agency agreements, supervising staff across programs, working with diverse stakeholders (advisory groups, nonprofit organizations, legislators, low-income communities), and providing financial oversight, including developing, coordination, and managing one or more budgets. The Program Director must demonstrate an understanding of financial management and support the organization’s contract compliance. The Program Director must demonstrate an understanding of accounting principles and sound fiscal judgement, as well as the ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks concurrently, work collaboratively, and meet tight deadlines.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree with at least five years of management experience, and experience working in residential settings for adults who require structured and supervised settings.
The Program Director will be responsible for the management of the day to day operations of the permanent housing and could be tasked to overseeing the policies and procedures of the temporary shelter operations.
The Director's current duties include the management and organization of support services for the program, handling the intake and eligibility review process (interviewing and processing prospective applicants for certain sites), responsibility for the overall project operations, the provision of consultation and supervision to project staff, overseeing the property management responsibilities.
The Program Director must understand the specific rules and regulations regarding the programmatic requirements by the New York Office of Mental Health, Homes and Community Renewal, Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency, and/or other applicable governmental agencies (i.e. Erie County Department of Social Services and Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance) to which the project(s) / programs are accountable.
