** Shift: Only one day a week from 3 pm - 7 pm. **

Regional Cancer Care Associates (RCCA) is looking for an exceptional Nuclear Medicine Technologists to join the team. This position performs a variety of technical procedures. Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for therapeutic applications. Nuclear Medicine Technologists work with doctors, medical physicists, nurses, and administrative staff. Specific state law may regulate that only licensed individuals perform compounding or mixing responsibilities. As a result, certain incumbents are prohibited from said tasks. This individual must also possess strong multi-tasking abilities and bring positivity and passion to their work. Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Involved in the procurement, preparation, quality control, calculation, identification, documentation, administration, disposal, storage and safe handling of radiopharmaceuticals and other radioactive materials. And prepares therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals for administration to the patient by an Authorized User Physician
Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and regulations as established by outside regulatory agencies
Educates the patient and uses techniques that will minimize the radiation exposure to the patient, general public and health personnel consistent with the ALARA (as low as is reasonably achievable) concept.
Maintain records, coordinate distribution of exposure badges, oversee the disposal/removal of radioactive waste, ordering and inventory of radioactive materials
Perform daily quality control checks and calibrations on equipment and completes required documentation
Assist the Radiation Safety Officer as needed as it relates to location(s) audits and maintenance of licensing. Follow company procedure for the handling of spills and/or personnel contamination and appropriate removal, storage, and disposal of decay.
Insert and maintain IV access for the administration of radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
Ability to react in an emergency and determine the best course of action or care for the patient.
Effective professional communications skills.
Demonstrates ethical, and professional behaviors at all times.
Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy and complies with all HIPAA requirements
Ability to work independently.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals and external vendors.
Monitors patients for unusual reactions to radioactive drugs.
Keeps detailed records of the amount and type of radiopharmaceutical used and of the procedure.
Maintains current knowledge of the frequent advances, innovations, and developments in the field.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
An associate's or bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology.
Must have an active NMTCB or AART(N) certification, and a NJ state license in Nuclear Medicine in good standing.
The ability to competently operate imaging equipment.
Good manual dexterity and mechanical abilities.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
The physical stamina necessary to stand for long periods of time and aid patients who need help moving.
Required to push/pull 75lbs+ of medical equipment.
