Tank Trailer Technician Level 1

Job Summary:

The Level 1 Tank Trailer Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our food-grade tank trailers. Under the supervision of experienced technicians this position is responsible for basic maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs of our specialized tank trailers.

Essential Job Functions:

* Conduct routine inspections to ensure the cleanliness and integrity of food-grade tank



trailers.

* Conduct inspections to ensure all Mechanical, Electrical, and Attachment



systems are in accordance with DOT and WDT requirements.

* Assist in the cleaning and sanitization of tank interiors following industry standards.


* Perform basic maintenance tasks such as brake adjustments, tire changes, and lighting



repairs.

* Assist senior technicians in making minor repairs and adjustments.


* Maintain accurate records of maintenance and cleaning activities.


* Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and federal and state regulations at all times.


* Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment.


* Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; and calling for repairs.


* Travel within designated region for service calls and temporary roadside maintenance


* Participate in training programs to develop technical skills.


* Other duties as assigned



Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities

Required:

* High School Diploma or equivalent.


* Valid Driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving record.


* Must be able to pass Department of Transportation alcohol and drug screen.


* Basic understanding of food-grade tank trailer components and systems.


* Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.


* Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest quality and work standards.


* Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varying environmental conditions.


* Ability to work any schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.


* Ability to read and understand technical service manuals.



Preferred:

* Vocational or Technical training in diesel mechanics, welding, or a related field


* Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)


* 1 year related experience
