Palmer College of Chiropractic is looking for a Clinic RT

FUNCTION

The Clinic Radiologic Technologist (RT) is responsible for performing quality x-ray examinations, education of the chiropractic student in in x-ray positioning and patient management during radiographic examinations, general radiography and department duties.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Responsible to the assigned administrator and has a support responsibility to all other departments and college personnel as necessary.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Perform radiographic examinations.
* Preparing examination rooms for patient examinations.
* Train and assess students in patient radiographic examinations.
* Monitoring students and patients during examinations, ensuring safety, and following procedures.
* Daily evaluation of equipment function.
* Performing radiology administrative tasks.
* Disseminate radiology reports.
* Screening phone calls, processing mail, scheduling appointments, maintaining filing systems, ordering, and maintaining office supplies, and other related duties.


* Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local safety and health regulations, maintenance of safe laboratory environment.
* Maintain compliance with college policies, procedures, and expectations.
* Perform all responsibilities in a manner that fully complies with Palmer's Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

* Training and experience in radiologic technology.
* Ability to perform assigned duties with time pressures and frequent interruptions.
* Ability to communicate effectively.
* Ability to utilize necessary equipment.
* Ability to resolve routine problems.
* Ability to work effectively with others in an academic environment.
* Ability to work various hours as job requires.
* A license to practice radiography.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and compassion.
* Good mathematical abilities and technical skills.
* Good computer and software management skills.
* Good organizational, time management, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
* The ability to lift heavy weights without assistance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* Requires a high school diploma with associate or bachelor's degree in radiology American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
* Requires at least one year of work-related experience.
* Must be licensed by the Iowa Department of Health.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

* Perform sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted, and temperature-controlled office setting.
* Radiology environment with x-ray equipment.
* Frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the workday
