Mental Health Coordinator

Position Summary:
Completes organizational and management tasks that support the efforts of a variety of projects, campaigns, or events for the Mental Health Department. Collaborates with EmbraceOKC partners, other agency or community partners, finance, and other team members on budgeting and allocating funds for curriculum, or programs. Oversees the streamline of MOUs from mental health agencies and makes adjustments as necessary to ensure that services are delivered to specifications and high standards. Determines project benchmarks and tracks, monitors, and measures progress and outcomes. Ensures the EmbracOKC team meets strategic planning-related timelines and deliverables effectively and efficiently. Coordinates and facilitates communications with stakeholders, reports on activity. Performs outreach to external parties, consultants, and stakeholders across the District.

Essential Duties:
  • Initiates project-related communication and requests for information and provides guidance to other departments, the general public, and/or outside agencies;
  • Assists with district-wide or school-based crisis support and coordination for a response
  • Provides select support services and project management tools, templates, and principles for partners and agencies;
  • Coordinates resources across multiple departments in strategic planning efforts for EmbraceOKC;
  • Develops and oversees measures/indicators related to outcomes of the EmbraceOKC strategic planning process. Monitors project, program, and/or deliverables and assesses impact to strategic initiatives; reports on progress to leadership;
  • Evaluates program effectiveness, reviewing data, overall staff adherence to the EmbraceOKC model;
  • Develops and maintains equity infused strategic planning tools and documentation;
  • Assists with coordinating ongoing in-service staff professional development activities;
  • Networks with available resources for the development of new collaborative ventures;
  • Assures compliance with contractual agencies or legal requirements of programs, partnerships, and services;
  • Attends staff meetings, workshops, and seminars to learn agency policy, rules, regulations, and procedures;
  • Participates in on-going in-service training as well as pertinent external training;
  • Acts as a positive role model in interpersonal relationships with OKCPS staff and external partners;
  • Creates and maintains reports that will assist with the collection of data;
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
  • Master's degree in Education or related field of study;
  • Five years of work experience in Mental Health or Wellness fields
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, students, and community members of diverse academic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds;
  • Ability to conduct staff development training in mental health aspects including curriculum, programs, and partnerships;
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills;
  • Commitment to the mission of EmbraceOKC; EmbraceOKC is a comprehensive approach to providing a school-based system of supports for OKCPS students and families that involves, community partnerships, high-quality tiered academic and behavioral strategies, and mental health and wellness services that range from prevention to treatment.
  • Demonstrates good planning, analytical, and decision-making skills with the ability to meet deadlines;
  • Proven critical and strategic thinking skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and maintain confidentiality;
  • Ability to create, implement, and use project management tools;
  • Must have a reliable mode of transportation for travel between sites and/or meetings;
  • Regular attendance is required including the ability to work evening and weekend activities as needed, outside of normal business hours, under sometimes stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
*Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education at a 2:1 ratio. Therefore for every 1 year of college lacking, 2 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted.

Physical/Mental Requirements:
  • Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer.
  • Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
  • Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds.
  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes. stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.

Work Environment:
  • Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate controlled environment.
