Summary of Position:#Performs Diagnostic X-ray and CT Scans at a technical level that requires independent judgment. # Primary Job Responsibilities:# Imaging: Responsible for performing radiology exams as ordered by providers to assist in the treatment and diagnosis of patients. Operates CT scanner to perform diagnostic procedures according to MI department protocol. Positions and performs diagnostic x-ray and CT according to established policy and protocol and according to patient#s age specific needs. # Patient Care:#Provides care and service to patients which meet their age specific needs. Ensures appropriate radiation safety techniques are utilized on all patients. Facilitates provider or RN screening evaluation on all patients requiring IV contrast.# Educates patients regarding the risks of contrast administration.# # Communication: Obtains and relays pertinent patient history to radiologist.# Maintains accurate patient log for permanent records.## Verifies physician order and ensure that patients are properly identified and prepared for exams. # Equipment/Stock Maintenance:#Maintains stock level in Medical Imaging/CT area and reports special purchase orders to Medical Imaging Supervisor. Takes appropriate action in the event of equipment failure; following CT downtime protocol. # ########### Technical:#Ensures all studies are networked via PACS system immediately upon completion of exam.###################### Responsible for promptly entering data into the Meditech system upon procedure completion. Performs any necessary post processing of CT exams to conform to Radiologist protocol. Performs daily Quality Assurance and reports any problems to service engineer. # Minimum Qualifications: Completion of AMA approved school of radiological technology. One year of#practical experience as CT Technologist preferred.#NYS, RT ARRT license required.# CT certification. #BLS certification.# Advanced level certifications must be obtained within first year of employment.# # Salary Range: $35.10 - $57.63 Pay Grade: 35 Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location.
