Job Overview:
The Dispatcher-EMT is responsible for answering 9-1-1 telephone calls and other telephone calls.
Qualifications:
Required:
* High School Graduate or GED
* Must be 18 years of age
* Driver s License
* American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification
* APCO BTC or State approved equivalent Certification
* IAED Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification
* Hazmat Material Awareness training Certification
* Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training Certification
* ICS 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800 Certification
Preferred:
* PHTLS/ITLS
* 1-3 years of previous dispatch experience related experience in firefighting/EMS
Certifications and Licenses Required:
* American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification
* APCO BTC or State approved equivalent Certification
* IAED Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification
* Hazmat Material Awareness training Certification
* Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training Certification
* ICS 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800 Certification
Scheduling Requirements:
* Full-Time, Nights
* 40 hours per week
Essential Functions:
* The Dispatcher-EMT is responsible for answering 9-1-1 telephone calls and other telephone calls, screening them according to the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch IAED ProQA system and dispatching the appropriate resources,
* The Dispatcher-EMT will utilize a Computer Aided Dispatch system, radio communications system, and telephone system to communicate with units in the field, update their status on assignment, and ensure the safety of all personnel,
* This position requires superior communication skills and customer service skills
