Summary:

The Lab Scientist is responsible for conducting research and experiments and tasks of moderate advanced extreme complexity. The scope of these responsibilities includes providing service to multiple departments including: Funded R&D; Outdoor Product Development; Quality Assurance. The Lab Scientist's work will be focused on microbiological and water treatment testing, in addition to assisting the Testing Engineer with physical testing work.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Conduct all necessary preparations for material and product testing.
* Perform all viral and bacterial preparation, testing and cleanup as necessary. This may include, but not limited to:
* Growth and maintenance of various bacteria and virus species as required for experiments
* Preparation and maintenance of various required growth media
* Cleaning and sterilization of supplies and biohazard materials in the autoclave or by other proper sterilization techniques.
* Work with Testing Manager to research and design experiments of mild significant extreme complexity
* Work with Testing Engineer to assist in physical testing activities
* Submit test samples to third party laboratories as necessary
* Research and execute applicable environmental and physical testing standards almost completely autonomously. with active feedback minimal direction from Testing manager
* Operate and assist in maintaining laboratory facilities, standard methods, equipment and records.
* Order supplies necessary for testing and laboratory maintenance
* Maintain accurate, detailed and up-to-date laboratory notebook documenting all laboratory work.
* Compile test results, aid in analysis of experimental data and compose laboratory test reports almost completely autonomously. with active feedback minimal direction from Testing manager
* Ensure overall organization and cleanliness of the laboratory
* Timeline Adherence: Assist in driving the team to Adhere to to the project schedule and work with Testing Manager to manage deadlines of shifting priority
* Competently Skillfully communicates project status and results to Testing Manager, internal and external customers
* Perform other miscellaneous tasks related to these responsibilities

Minimum Requirements:

* Minimum 4-year degree in biology, chemistry or related technical field
* Minimum 0-2 years 2-4 years 4+ years professional experience in a laboratory environment
* Interpersonal and oral presentation skills
* Computer experience and knowledge of Microsoft applications required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
* Passion for the product line(s)
* Active outdoor participant is highly desirable

Working Conditions:

* Casual office environment
* Must be able to travel 15% of the year: domestic and international travel
